RESTART Foundation Final Conference

The RESTART Foundation’s Final Conference will be held from 19 to 21 January 2026 at the Confindustria Auditorium della Tecnica Congress Centre in Rome.

The Final Plenary Dissemination Event is the closing event of the national programme “RESearch and innovation on future Telecommunications systems and networks, to make Italy more smart”. Three days of discussion between institutions, academia, and industry to outline the guidelines for Italy’s digital future, with a focus on technological hegemony, regulation, and new applications of telecommunication networks.

A Programme Full of Events

The Plenary, organised by the RESTART Foundation and funded by PNRR funds, will see the participation of institutional speakers, including Nicola Blefari Melazzi (President of the RESTART Foundation) and Henna Maria Virkkunen (Vice-President of the European Commission), as well as representatives from leading companies in the sector such as TIM, Ericsson, Open Fiber, and Nokia. Key topics for discussion will include the impact of the PNRR, artificial intelligence applied to networks, and the challenges for “net neutrality”. The event will feature plenary sessions, technical panels, and demos of innovative projects funded under the RESTART programme.

Logogramma in Spoke 8 of the RESTART Call

Following its participation in previous dissemination events, Logogramma will present the results of the projects in which it was involved during the Demo session of the Final General Conference taking place in Rome on 21 January.

Within the RESTART programme, Logogramma participated in two different Work Packages: the first to conduct research and development on the topic of ABD (Argumentation-Based Dialogue) in relation to the development of innovative CRS (Conversational Recommender Systems).

Within WP6, Logogramma collaborated on PoC 3.3 “Interactive Virtual Assistant with Conversational AI Capabilities” alongside partners from the University of Naples “Federico II”, Fastweb, and the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

The aim of the PoC was to demonstrate how technologies developed within the RESTART programme can be used in complex scenarios involving the use of AI, real-time natural language interaction, and eXtended Reality (XR) platforms, all underpinned by 5G technologies: a complex challenge, given the management of computational and network resources, which is necessarily faced by those operating in real-world, market-driven scenarios, rather than in a purely academic research context.

From this perspective, Logogramma’s participation in the RESTART project demonstrates the importance of building bridges and fostering virtuous collaborations between universities, research centres, and businesses to accelerate innovation.

A Bridge Between Research and Industry, Between Present and Future

The Final Plenary session in Rome provided an opportunity to present the results achieved by the RESTART programme and to define the next steps, with the aim of consolidating Italy’s position in the European telecommunications landscape.
